Following on from the first two live broadcasts in the series of LinkAGE (Linking Academia with Genomics Education) webinars, the Genomics Education Programme is pleased to announce details of the upcoming third webinar. The next webinar and Q&A session will be broadcast live on Thursday 9th March at 5:30pm, will discuss Spinal muscular atrophy and nusinersen and will be presented by the Royal London Hospital consultant paediatric neurologist Dr Louise Hartley. The webinar and Q&A will: • explain the genetic basis for spinal muscular atrophy and the resultant spectrum of disease, including the prodromal phase; and • discuss the mechanism of action of the three new treatments now available to treat SMA; and • appreciate the range of effectiveness of the treatments and the role of each in the treatment of SMA.
